OWN moving life forward.
Hi, I’m Leigh.
I'm a therapist turned life coach and an expert at helping people navigate change. Clients come to me with unbearable challenges that seem impossible to figure out and leave with a new way of being that they are proud of and empowered by.
I've seen firsthand how change happens faster and easier when clients focus on a vision of their future pulling them forward, instead of outdated stories from their past pushing them. Each coaching session builds on the next, leaving clients feeling understood, motivated, and realizing the creative ideas and solutions that have been inside them all along.
I am a masters level licensed therapist, a graduate of the CFJ Coaching School and hold a certificate in Spiritual Psychology from The University of Santa Monica. With over 30 years of experience, I'm passionate about helping people make BIG shifts in their lives and move from surviving to thriving.

How Coaching is delivered
We work either in person, by Zoom or phone.
You’ll have dedicated time to untangle the issue and discover your best solutions.
We’ll go through four simple stages:
1. Cultivate
Tell the whole story
Tell your whole story. Begin getting your bearings and assessing your skills. See some new insights. You’ll come feeling overwhelmed by chaos and leave feeling grounded and knowing you have been deeply heard.
2. Curate
Take stock
Relieve your self-doubt and criticism by taking stock of your inner and outer resources. Let’s start creating a plan with each area covered. You’ll go from feeling lost to seeing a clear path forward.
3. Create
Get your appetite
You are seeing clearly and are ready to start experimenting. You are feeling energized and enthusiastic about the possibilities in your future. You have your appetite for life back!
4. Celebrate
Empowered Direction
Your inspiration is now driving you into empowered direction. You know your strength and courage. You are grateful because this journey has been the best thing that ever happened to you.

Answers to your Questions
KNOW EXPERTISE
-
Word of mouth and referrals are helpful. And the best way to find a coach that matches you is by having an in depth conversation with a coach.
Talk to several, take your time.
The best choice usually becomes obvious.
-
While there are several programs that certify for coaches, there is no one governing body that regulates coaching. So “certification” is from that agency alone vs. any national or state standard.
The best coaches have education, professional experience and additional training (like University of Santa Monica or a coaching school) to hold the coaching connection professionally and consistently. They also love what they do. Their enthusiasm will be contagious.
-
Athletes, actors, politicians, singers all have coaches. Why? Because they want someone to keep them inspired, help them navigate the uncomfortable, stay professional, and motivated to do their best.
The question is not whether coaching is a luxury…for most clients coaching is an essential part of their business and professional life. The question really is - what is the ending of your story? What is the healthiest way for you to be as you move through your current issue - to a better place? Every time we show up as clearer leaders, more engaged, kinder, and honest, we impact everyone we interact with. The world becomes a better place.
-
Therapy often focuses on learning about who we are by digesting and interpreting the past. Coaching takes that past - the good and bad - and uses it as a catalyst to create a future. It allows the past to be fully acknowledged but doesn’t demand that it limits or controls what you can build for yourself.
Whether you get a coach or not, you still have to know what you want to create for your future in order to get there.
-
Yes. As you grow and change as a person, you build a toolbox with skills to utilize vs. over-reacting or taking things personally. You have new ways of navigating the good and the less good that life brings. Your toolbox in permanent.
-
Do what exactly on your own?
Get through the day? Get through your marriage, divorce, or health crisis? How about mastering and growing vs. just getting through? Coaching speeds up growth and adds additional energy, inspiration and guidance beyond what you might have ever had before.
Ask your friends and family- do they think you could benefit from support?
Doing it on your own will always be an option you can return to after coaching.
-
Coaching is all about commitment and being ALL IN. Anytime you pay by the session there is an association made with a dollar figure and ONE session, as if each session is a separate entity. That is a false reality. Your coach is someone that surrounds you and your life. There is email support, spot calls, supportive resources to explore, etc. It is a deep layer of support in your life far beyond showing up and just talking. This is an active and engaging partnership that takes place as much outside the session as inside of it.
What you put into your coaching work is the biggest determining factor as to the value you get out of coaching. Use you coach, read the books, be ready to experiment with doing things that are radically different… but actually easier because they are far more rewarding.

Seems too good to be true?
It is in a way. Most coaches love to coach and a discovery call is a great way to see if client and coach will be a good fit. It is part of the process and a win/win: The client gets deeply served and the coach gets to coach. If you think of it like a shoe store (it is all about the souls right?) not every pair of shoes tried on is expected to be sold. It’s part of the process.
